May was such a busy month for me. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to see June!
I did manage to get my sewing time in though!
I made the June chapter entirely from my Turn Up The Volume bundle from Fat Quarter Shop. UPDATE!!!! – THAT BUNDLE SOLD OUT ~ THE NEW BUNDLE IS TURN UP THE VOLUME 2 ~ (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)I used the purple, orange and yellow for my log cabin circle but if you use one color I think it will look even more circular ~
The flying geese blocks went together fast and I like the progression of color from blue to yellow. :) I have these square rulers in a few sizes and they are great for squaring up your blocks. It makes a huge difference (at least for me!) and you can get them pretty cheap at Joanne’s when they have their coupons out … I use the 12 1/2 and 6 1/2 sizes the most but I also have 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. The smaller sizes are excellent for trimming half-square triangles. I like to square up everything as I go to keep things straight as I’m joining blocks.
You might not notice at first glance but the triangles get darker toward the top so they contrast a little better against the yellow.
I didn’t get a shot this month of all the chapter blocks together, but you can see where this chapter fits into the quilt diagram below.
You can find the pattern
on CRAFTSY ~or~ in MY SHOP!
