Hi, I’m Sherri and welcome to my blog.
‘Rebecca Mae Designs’ was named after my mother, daughters and even great grandmothers who all shared those same first or middle names… they all inspire me in their own way to be creative.
I come from a long line of crafts men and women.  My great grandfather was a pioneer of log home construction.  He built one of the first log homes recorded with the National Register of Historic Places… and we still enjoy this cabin in Maine every summer!  My family history lends itself to living a creative and simple life.
Lucky for me, my mother owned a sewing machine and I started sewing, making small sewing crafts and even altering my own clothes as a teenager.  When I graduated, my parents bought me my own sewing machine and like my great grandmother before me, a quilter was born.  With two very talented grandmothers who held such talents as knitting, sewing and painting, as well as father and grandfathers who were master craftsmen it’s no surprise I was destined to create!  I can remember intently watching ‘Granny’ at the sewing machine, and holding ‘Mum’s’ yarn for her, feeling so special to be part of the process.  They passed onto me the love of a handmade item.
Thanks for checking out my blog and be sure to say hello!

Hi Michelle, Thanks so much for your comment. I’m very excited to have a follower from Austrailia… I had the opportunity to visit there this past July.. I went to Sydney and then Perth and explored a little away from each city. I LOVED it there, the people are really fantastic. If you sign up for the mailing list I will email you when each new block is listed. I list the current block of the month free for the entire month (you can find the march one listed under tutorials) when the month ends the new block is free and the previous block can be purchased on craftsy. So happy you’re going to follow along. Sign up and I’ll email you :o) Cheers to you from New England! :o) Sherri

I’ve been watching for a quilt pattern for my third granddaughter and just happened upon your ‘feathers’ block of the month for June. I absolutely love it! That is the one for her. And it’s free. Thank you so much.
