Hello Quilters!
I’ve been doing a little Christmas in July (secret) sewing and I have a project to share! First of all, I’m celebrating the season a little early with some other quilters for a blog hop featuring Masterpiece Quilting’s book Christmas Collection (amazon link), and today I’m sharing my holiday pillow, made from the Mistletoe Magic pattern.
I chose to make the Mistletoe Magic pillow because I happen to love pillows, especially quilted ones! I was going to go with the same colors shown in the book and then I remembered I had some Tula Pink Holiday Homies fabric left from another project so – no brainer, Homies it is!
All the furry friends (aka homies) on the fabric fit perfect in the 6″ blocks! And I used the black wood grain fabric along with some Essex Linen in each of my nine patch squares because I really liked the look of the fabrics together.
You might notice the pillow top has a narrow green flange border, this was the first time I’ve added a flange and it does add a little extra fun to the project.
I really love the holiday season and I’m excited to get cozy with my pillow this winter. But for now, I’ll enjoy the summer and the outdoors while I can!

Hello from Long island, New York… My current favorite is a twister Christmas wreath wall hanging that I made last year for Christmas. Who knows… If I make another Christmas quilt this year, it may become my new favorite…lol. I love the Nisse, I mean Tomte, patterns!!! 🎄🎅🦌
My favorite is a Santa Crescent that has a red velvet hat and a whitefurry beard. He hangs on my door rather than a wreath.i made some for gifts and raffled one for charity. From NY
Hi from Utah! My favorite is a wall hanging featuring pieced and appliqué blocks of Christmas favorites. Santa, plum pudding, star, wreath, etc. I embellished some of the blocks with beads and other sparkly things. Love the dogs in your pillow!
Hi from Amboy, WA. My favorite is a beautiful Reindeer quilt, with all Santa’s reindeer’s. The grandkids love it and always play a game by seeing who can name all the reindeer.
Love your patterns. I am making my second Rebecca Mae quilt now. My favorite Christmas project was the Santa sacks I made for my niece and nephew.
I am a quilter from Kentucky and have made several things for Christmas to display. I love foundation paper piecing and making miniatures the most as they are quickly finished and they can be stacked away off season. The closets are getting full of the quilts. Red and green go together so nicely and it’s something I can get finished in between seasonal cooking.
My favorite holiday project so far is a sampler quilt make out of Christmas fabric. I love sampler quilts!
One year I made a set of holiday place mats for each member of the family. What made them real fun was they where double sided so there was 2 sets in one!
Nine years ago I embroidered an online BOM quilt. Finally, sewed it all together, quilted it last year in time for Christmas. It is now my few favourite! Stopping by from Toronto, Canada.
I love the gnomes and have one sitting not too far from me. Love all your designs actually.
4th of July table runners are always fun!
Ii love to make coasters in Christmas fabrics as quick gifts. I will make a “gift bag” to match and then the gift bag can be used year after year instead of paper.
Hi, I love your pillow, that fabric is wonderful! My favorite holiday project I made for Christmas was a snowman table runner…every November when I take it out, I love how it looks and hate to put it away after the holidays. I keep it up til end of January as it is snowmen after all! Thanks.
My favourite is a wall hanging called Deer oh Deer, I made it a few years ago but I love it, it has patchwork, applique, embroidery and embellishments., took me quite a while to finish it!!
That pillow is so darling. I love the little flange..it adds so much to the pillow.
Hello from Oregon! At the moment my favorite holiday quilty project is the one I’m working on right now! I’m making a Christmas tree skirt, something I wish I had every year, as I’m putting up the tree. At last, I’m thinking about it in advance and doing something about it. It’s making me happy already.
Howdy from Texas! I am currently working on the Dear Daughter quilt to give to my niece this Christmas. I love love love the positive messages this quilt gives as well as How colorful and fun it is. What a joy to make…and give!!
I love the way you have used your fabric, beautiful! My favorite project is a tree skirt I made a few years ago.
Greetings from Minnesota. Years ago I made a Christmas log cabin quilt. Still use it every year.
I absolutely love the Jul i Scandinavia hanging. I usually make a penny rug as a gift for Christmas. My sister-in-law would love this.
Hello from PA Working on some Christmas stockings,,Always wanted to put up some funky embellished ones on the mantel, the kind with the curled up toes. Lots of fun making them. Glad to get an early start
I just found you last year. I love your patterns. I discovered you from a magazine. You had the three trees and tomte quilt pattern in it. Love, love, love
Love your homie pillow! I get intimidated with pillows for some reason 😳. My favorite Christmas projects are quilts. Last year I gave Christmas quilts to my 11 younger grandchildren and it was such fun. Some included applique and embroidery, some were turned and tacked, some were quilted my an amazing friend who somehow managed to get them all done in time to be gifted at Thanksgiving so they could be enjoyed during the holidays and one was a rag quilt which are among my favorite for snuggling on the couch. I’m wondering what to do for Christmas this year! 😍. I am currently behind on Dear Diary but will be catching up soon! While enjoying these hot Oklahoma “dog days of summer”. Thank you for sharing your creativity!
Kris
My favorite is a Christmas tree quilt I hang on the door and attach Christmas cards I receive to it.

Hello from HOT Dallas, Texas! My favorite Christmas quilt is a Dresden plate made with reds, greens, and aquas with a fussy cut center of a cute little Santa Claus!
Hello from Charlotte, NC.
Several years ago I made a tree shirt with block letters spelling NOEL on the points. It was one of my first quilting projects.
This pillow would match perfectly wi a Holiday Homies Christmas quilt I am making that was designed by my friend Mary Rose Bird.
St Augustine, FL I have the Tomte Quilt and love it! I gave mine away and plan on making another this year. I did a 12 Days of Christmas wall hanging I put out every year. Congratulations on your new book.
My favorite Christmas project is a tree skirt I made many years ago and still use. Like the ideas in this book.
I really like everything I make. If I have to pick just one it would be these little baskets. They can be reindeer, lambs, cats whatever. They are just adorable.
My favorite was a reindeer quilt. I think it may have been Where’s Rudolph? Each of the reindeer had brown noses, except one reindeer had a red nose. It was really cute.
My fave project will be one for this year – my daughter brought me a panel and asked me to make her a wall hanging for her apartment. I’m so excited to get started on it!
I’m working on a 12 Days of Christmas quilt that I hope to finish soon. I also have the Mistletoe pattern that needs to be quilted, and that one will definitely be done by Christmas. I purchased my first Tomte before Christmas last year, so your Scandinavian Tomte is definitely on my list! So cute!
going to finish up my Christmas present by Thanksgiving.
I have a Christmas quilt that is a sampler , done with the “I wish you a Merry “ quilt along 2 years ago !!! I love it and would like to have a collection of holiday quilts or minis . Thank you.
Fun felt Christmas stockings with 5 toes, I made before I ever learned to quilt. It was a work Christmas making decoration party, we each had to bring an idea and enough material for everyone to make an ornament or piece. We each went home with 12 different pieces!
I made a couple of santa’s belt throw pillows last year. They’re a fave!
Last year I made Christmas tablerunners for the family! They were wonderful!
