Dear Dreamer Block of the Month 2025

Hello Quilters!

It’s that time of the year again, and I will be hosting another Block of the Month in 2025, this one is called Dear Dreamer.

What can I tell you? Here are some deets:

Details

• This is a Row by Row design
• Mostly applique, some optional words, a few flying geese
• Nine month program
• 64″ x 68″ finished
• Think dandelions, butterflies and flowers ~ it’s a sweet quilt!
• The background of each row will be pieced (simple piecing) and will be the foundation for our applique.

FABRIC

I am using two fabric lines from Dear Stella designed by my friend and fabric designer PammieJane. The fabric lines are two of their new basic lines, the low volume collection is called Quiet Riot and the colorful collection is called Wild. Knowing myself, I will likely add in some additional fabric and I’m thinking about some colorful solids… so all the colors can play!

This is the perfect quilt to use up some of your stash; solids and saturated colors for the applique and low volume fabrics for the pieced background.

WORDS

For the applique text… You can use fabric, wool, or embroidery stitches. And they are entirely optional! I will also include the entire alphabet if you want to switch up the words. And perhaps an alternative font for stitching.

I am going to use wool for my letters and bees. I will offer a wool bundle in my shop when we get started.

Here is a glimpse of the layout with the top two rows filled in, so you have an idea of where we are going… You know I like to keep some mystery!

I will provide short videos with some instructions so you can follow along if some of these techniques are new to you.
