I went out to get some pics last weekend ~ a beautiful day for it!
#Love Wins is a scrappy quilt made in eight sections with row-by-row construction. Perfect for using up scraps in your stash.
At 70″ x 60″ its a generous lap size quilt or beautiful wall hanging.
Isn’t the heart outline fabric fun? The collection is called Paint and the print is called Clippings in spackle by Carrie Bloomston. It looks like news print and it’s wonderful to work with.
It’s got lots of fun text…
I used it on the back too with another fabric from her collection in the center.
Here is a close up since the last picture doesn’t show how fun it really is…
My scrap pile still looks untouched… but I love scraps and it will go to good use! I even did a little fussy cutting and if you have read my blog before, some of this fabric probably looks a little familiar :)
You probably have some of these in your stash too!
Ok I need to point out this binding fabric… it’s called architectures from Carolyn Friedlander. I heart it!
And lastly ~ I wanted to show a close up of the fabric I used for the equals sign, it’s so fun and pretty… I don’t remember what it is but maybe you know already…
I love everything about this quilt, the meaning, the colors, the scrappy look, the straight line quilting the heart outline fabric, the binding… yup everything!
What a beautiful, happy quilt! The back is just a pretty.
What a beautiful quilt! So much thoughtfulness went into each part of it and I love the fabrics you used.
You did a wonderful job with the color gradation. I love it and the concept!
I love your quilt. Perfect for this summer of rainbow love!
It is a lovely quilt! The newsprint fabric is a great idea and would be a fun conversation starter. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful creative day!
Just beautiful. I love the front and the back. I recognized a number fabrics that I have in my stash waiting to be used. I may need to do some scrappy patterns to use some of it up.
Sherri, it’s a beautiful quilt–front and back! Did you weave strips for the back or is it the fabric or. . . ? This beginning quilter, 67 year old, newly married lesbian thanks you from the bottom of her heart for your giving of your time and talent to make this quilt ! :) It means so much
Gorgeous and you have such an amazing place to take photos! I am green with envy! Love the news print fabric especially!
Oh, this is such a beautiful quilt–love it and love the fabrics!
(And congrats to Karen on her new marriage! All the best to you!)
I found your site via Gotham Quilts and I live in Maine. Have ordered Love Wins as it is just exactly what I am looking for and want to make right away. Hope it doesn’t take too long to get the pattern. It’s terrific!
