Piece and Quilt with Precuts Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Star Struck Quilt ~ Piece and Quilt with Precuts Blog Tour

Hello Quilters!

Today is my day on the Blog Tour for Piece and Quilt with Precuts by Christa Watson!

I have lots to share and…. I have some AWESOME GIVEAWAYS! WOO HOO!

Let’s get started!

I met Christa when I went to Chicago for Sew Pro and became a fan. When she reached out about her blog hop, I jumped on board! I have been working on my machine quilting skills and this would be good practice!

I got my copy of the book and knew I wanted to make her Star Struck pattern. There are 11 quilt patterns in the book and they all have cutting instructions for precuts which is awesome ~ but I was going to use up some large scraps from a bundle I had already cut into, and that’s totally do-able too!  Precuts or Stash… it’s all good!

If you follow me you might remember I won some fabric (a 1/2 yard bundle!!!) from Michael Miller a while back. It’s gorgeous right? The collection is called Nature Walk, designed by Tamara Kate.

This will be the THIRD project I’m making from this bundle! Crazy! (one project is a sewing machine cover tutorial!)

I got to work on my stars and I want to mention that Christa’s cutting instructions were spot on, and it was wonderful to have fun and sew without any speed bumps!

But I did manage to have a couple dates with the seam ripper… (oopsie!)

Star Struck Quilt ~ Piece and Quilt with Precuts Blog Tour

When you get to the scrappy border it will go together quick since all the border squares are cut at the beginning from the same fat quarter as the star – they are all ready to stitch! Loved that!

I’m not a machine quilting superstar so it was nice to have designs to choose from and not have to stress over the quilting.

There are 18 designs in the book and I went with the loops and stars design that Christa recommended for Star Struck. I love it! It’s not over quilted… just perfect!

I finished it off with a scrappy binding!
