I’ve Finished my top for the
Sew Scrappy Sampler, Block of the Month Quilt Pattern!
This top finishes at 90″ x 99″ (full/queen)
I wish I had more pictures for you but it was freezing and actually lightly snowing when I took these pics and they just don’t do the color justice.
Kaffe has so many gorgeous large scale prints, I wanted to use one for the border and I’m so happy with the one I chose! It’s called Frilly ~ Oh my goodness, it’s delicious! Could you resist this? I thought not!
You can see the fabrics I used for the background and circles in this next picture ~ I fell in love with them right away!
Now, here is some color! yum!
I just can’t get enough of Kaffe…
If you’ve noticed the quilt isn’t finished, that’s because I’ve decided to hand quilt, using big stitches (tute here) and I’m thinking maybe I’ve lost my mind all together? It’s a large quilt… but it really lends itself to hand quilting and after the journey of piecing all these fun blocks I just gotta do it! Plus I’m dying to quilt around all those frilly flowers ~ DREAMY!
I’m going to use either Perle Cotton or I might try Aurifil 12 wt thread this time. I’ve used the 12 wt in my machine, but not for hand quilting yet. If anyone has used 12 wt for hand quilting please let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear your feedback! I’m excited to get going on it. First I have to make the back and sandwich it but I’m making progress!
Thanks so much to everyone who’s been following along and all your nice comments along the way! If you’ve got the block patterns and are interested in my top design ~ you can find it for individual sale in my shop!
I will also be bundling the patterns all together for sale soon. In the meantime you can still find all the individual blocks and finishing instructions in my shop!
I have already started my new 2016 Block of the Month ~ Dear Daughter.
I hope you’ll join me!

PS – I’m finding it really easy to follow you via http://mycreativebloglist.blogspot.com/, although I still follow you via a variety of tools.
Sherri, I love the way you’ve used Kaffe Fassett fabrics to take advantage of his ‘scrummy’ (scrumptious/yummy)colors & dreamy designs to create something spectacular. I’m sure you’ll enjoy hand-quilting this one. Looks as though it’s worth taking the time to make it extra-special. Can’t wait to see it all done and proudly displayed! cheers!
Oh, those teeny tiny bits of color–so beautifully pieced :( Please let us see some of your quilting when you get underway–I love the look of hand quilting, but I’m a big chicken to try it myself!
What a unique design. I actually *could* have resisted the KF fabric, not being a big fan of his work, but it looks very nice as your border.
